YMCA Announces Childcare Leadership Changes As the YMCA of Easley, Pickens & Powdersville continues to grow, they will add five new after school sites this coming school year: Crosswell, Spearman, West Pelzer, Palmetto and Cedar Grove, which expands their program to 13 locations serving 17 schools. To best manage this growth, the YMCA has announced the creation of a separate "Childcare Services Branch" which will operate independently from their physical branches. With 13 after school sites and 6 camp sites, the childcare branch will be responsible for roughly $1.4 million of the associations $4 million dollar budget. The childcare programs will oversee roughly 35% of the organizations resources. Ryan Lemere will be stepping into the role of Childcare Branch Executive and his team will consist of Mariah Patel, Childcare Director for the Pickens County (Easley Y, Pickens Y, East End, McKissick and Crosswell); Ashleigh Coker, Childcare Director for ASD1 North (Concrete, Powdersville, Hunt Meadows and Wren); Cass Ramey, Childcare Director ASD1 South (Spearman, West Pelzer, Palmetto and Cedar Grove); and Jennifer Barker, Curriculum Development, Planning & Execution. The YMCA is excited about this leadership team and their mission...."We believe that all children have been created with a unique God-given purpose in which we have the responsibility to provide a safe environment where we educate, empower and equip them."
