Congratulations to our Powdersville Business Council (PBC) for being selected as a recipient of the 2019 Hughes Investments Elevate Upstate Community Vibrancy Grant. Their winning project is an inaugural Rhythm on the River Festival to be held in May 2020 at Dolly Cooper Park in Powdersville. Created in 2013, the Elevate Upstate grants are hosted by Ten at the Top (TATT) to provide initial funding support for programs that promote community and economic vibrancy in local areas of Upstate SC. Since the program’s inception, Hughes Investments has contributed a total of $180,000 to 24 community vibrancy initiatives across the Upstate. The initiative awards two grants annually up to $5,000 each to entities including neighborhood associations, civic- or community-based organizations, non-profit organizations or local governments that are committed to developing and implementing programs designed to increase local vibrancy in communities within the Upstate. This year, the selection committee reviewed 25 grant applications, inviting five finalists for a personal presentation at the TATT 10th Anniversary Celebration where the two award winners were announced. Established in 2007 by the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce, the Powdersville Business Council (PBC) promotes the well-being of the business, professional and industrial community of the Powdersville area. In partnership with the Greater Easley Chamber, the PBC works for the betterment of Powdersville.
