Film Honoring Captain Kimberly Hampton is Released

On the evening of May 21, the film "Remembering the Flight of an Easley Hero" went live on YouTube. Produced by Brad Garrison, the film honors the life and ultimate sacrifice of Captain Kimberly Hampton by highlighting Operation Dragonfly, a community effort which honors her memory through the creation of the Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Park located at the Hampton Memorial Library in Easley (304 Biltmore Road).

Captain Hampton was the first female pilot in United States military history to be killed by hostile enemy fire. The memorial park named in her memory features an OH-58D Kiowa helicopter like the one she flew. View the film to hear firsthand from those who knew her best, about what made her special, and how Operation Dragonfly and the Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Park have helped heal those who loved her.
