Upstate Hemp Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

Upstate Hemp Company celebrated their ribbon cutting on Friday, January 4. Located at 225 South Pendleton Street in Easley, Upstate Hemp is a retail store dedicated to providing their customers with the higheest quality CBD and hemp products available.

From the Owners:
Many people that transit Pendleton Street in Easley on a regular basis have seen an interesting new addition to the storefronts. Two blocks south of Main Street is Easley’s first store devoted exclusively to Hemp products, Upstate Hemp. They specialize in CBD Oils, and numerous other CBD products all derived from hemp.

The store’s owners are a local couple, Stan and Cara Shuttleworth, that recently retired from the military. When asked why a hemp store and why Easley, Stan said, “We knew how effective CBD was at treating many ailments, but unfortunately finding the product locally was difficult and finding anyone that could talk about the product in detail was even more challenging. So, we decided to bring this amazing product to the people of Pickens County.”

When you first enter the store, you take note of its inviting, boutique like feel with a great selection of products. Walking through the store, it is clear to see that quality is at the top of the requirements for any product they carry. We asked the owners what was most important when selecting a CBD product and Stan said, “Anytime someone is looking at purchasing CBD they need to ensure two things, purity and potency. They need to be sure they are getting the amount of CBD they paid for which is potency. Equally as important is purity. They need to be sure they are not getting things they don’t want like pesticides and heavy metals. There is a lot of junk CBD on the market, and it is easy to get the wrong stuff.”

We asked Cara what set them apart when it comes to CBD, “First, we get to know each customer to find out how we could potentially help them. We want to ensure that their questions are answered and their needs met. We also do our homework, researching all available data to make sure our customers have the best information available to make the most informed decision possible. Since we aren’t healthcare providers, we encourage every customer currently under medical care and taking medications to consult with their physician prior to using CBD products to ensure there are no issues with any prescriptions.”

The Shuttleworths said if there is one thing they wanted to leave our readers with, it is that industrial hemp is not marijuana. While from the same family, it is its own plant that has no psychoactive effect, but has some impressive potential health benefits. If you suffer from anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, or a neurological disorder, you owe it to yourself to give CBD a try.

One of their biggest goals is to educate people on what CBD is and how it might can help someone in need. For more information visit their store or give them a call at 864-644-8400.
