The Leadership Pickens County (LPC) Class of 2017 hosted a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, May 16 for their tiny home in The Dream Center Pickens County's Opportunity Village. As part of Leadership Pickens County, each class is required to complete a service project. The project must be something that will assist in the community and one that will leave a legacy for years to come. The class visited The Dream Center during their Non-Profit Class Session. Initially having chose a different project, after seeing the need there, the class made a decision to change their project. The LPC class chose to raise $15,000 to sponsor a tiny home in The Dream Center's Opportunity Village. In addition to raising the funds to sponsor a home the class spent time volunteering at the Opportunity Village helping any way they could to build the houses and do work around the grounds.
