All events are free. The library’s new program for ages 10-14, titled "Make A Story Tuesday" will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. The 90-minute session will begin with reading aloud the first chapter of a Juvenile Fiction series book. Then participants will create their own ending for the story. The library’s weekly Story Time for ages 1-5 take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. The half hour session includes reading aloud and simple crafts. On Oct. 19 the story time will highlight Edgar Allan Poe, with a paper crow craft and reading two Poe-inspired picture books by Jennifer Adams. The Hispanic Bilingual Story Time for ages 5-12 will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10 and 24. Children will listen to a story told in both Spanish and English, play games, and make a craft. The library will hold its monthly adult book club at 6 p.m. on Oct. 6. The book to be discussed is "The Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins. Also as part of the Anderson County Library System’s celebration of the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe, the classic Vincent Price film, "The Raven," will be screened on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. For more information, contact branch manager Alex Currin at 864-295-1190.
